Materials
Yes, our bottles and Food'ie are made of stainless steel and our lids for Drinking Bottles and Food'ie are made of 100% pure Polypropylene plastic, which is precisely not affected by acids, bases and solvents - and which is known for its long-term durability. All AYA&IDA's products are BPA free. An advantage of both stainless steel and polypropylene is that the materials can be reused for new purposes.
We have chosen the material stainless steel 18/8, as it is both food safe and non-reactive. This means that the stainless steel cannot interact with the product's contents or receive/give off flavour. AYA&IDA's products are all laboratory-certified to meet LFGB (food contact grade testing). In addition to thermotechnology and the advantages in use that the stainless steel provides, the material is also easy to recycle and give new life.
No, our bottles are made of food grade 18/8 stainless steel that is natural and safe. It is not uncoated: the inside of our bottles need no plastic lining.
At AYA&IDA, we want you to extend the life of your products. We encourage you to repair rather than discard them, so we offer spare parts for our items. This makes it easy to replace small parts if something is lost or worn out—helping you enjoy your products for years to come. See spare parts here.
AYA&IDA's products - both drinking bottles, CUP2GO, Lunch Box and Food'ie are designed to contain food and drinks.
Our products are made of 18/8 stainless steel, so they can hold any type of beverage, hot or cold, acidic or carbonated, without adding any extra flavor or releasing harmful substances. The products are laboratory certified to meet LFGB (food contact grade testing)
Each paint finish we choose for our bottles is made with a durable powder coating.
This also means that the paint can be scratched if you drop it or scrape against it. Careful use of the bottle will avoid this. If it is dropped, the bottle will probably also get dents, but there is nothing to worry about in terms of its safety: even if you dropped your stainless steel bottle and it got a little bump, it will not affect the functionality.
AYA&IDA's stainless steel products are manufactured in China in Zhejiang Province by certified partners who have implemented and maintained quality management system certifications, as well as being a member of BSCI in relation to their working environment, environment and safety.
We choose our partners very carefully and often visit the facilities ourselves. We have ongoing dialogue and compliance with the industry's high standards for quality, safety, fair labor, ethical business practices and environmental responsibility.
We have entered into agreements that ensure healthy, safe, fair and responsible conditions, as well as social and environmental assessments are carried out on an ongoing basis - as well as material and product safety testing. We want to dispel the myth that responsibility and "made in China" are mutually exclusive, and we work hard to ensure that we are responsible at every step.
If you no longer use your product, it can easily be recycled. Our stainless steel products can be sorted as metal waste, allowing them to be repurposed and given new life. In this way, we help reduce resource consumption and extend the material's lifecycle together.
Cleaning
Keeping your AYA&IDA products clean is easy.
Our Food'ie, CUP2GO and all our straws are dishwasher safe. Drinking bottles and Kids Straw Bottle are not dishwasher safe.
We recommend that the drinking bottle be rinsed with warm water after each use, especially if the bottle is used to store a liquid other than water. For deep cleaning, we suggest using warm water, mild soap and a bottle brush. If you want a more organic alternative, you can use a solution made of vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda - it's just as effective.
Once washed, leave them to dry with the cap and bottle neck facing down to allow the water to flow out. This can also be used to just dry the bottle in general so it doesn't smell stuffy.
Thermal effect
Our products are double-walled, insulated bottles. Therefore, the bottle remains the same on the outside regardless of whether it contains something ice-cold or scalding hot.
CUP2GO has been tested to be able to keep the coffee warm as below:
If coffee/tea is poured in at a temperature of 90 degrees (electric kettle and Quooker gave us a starting temperature of 90 degrees hot water) and you immediately close the lid on the cup, the temperature drops by approx. 10 degrees every ½ hour.
This means that the coffee/tea is still after approx. 1½ - 2 hours is the perfect drinking temperature.
If you want to drink the coffee/tea right away, you just wait a little before putting the lid on. The opening is large, and you can quickly temper the coffee to the desired temperature.
There is also a big difference in the starting temperature depending on how the coffee is brewed, whether it is in the tank, directly into a thermos or in the good old-fashioned glass jug. Some put cold milk in the coffee and others hot milk, so the starting temperatures fluctuate enormously.
Other
Yes. As long as it is empty, you can carry your bottle through security. You'll often find a water dispenser in the airport - and you can enjoy cold water along your trip.
At AYA&IDA, we use recycled packaging, so you may receive a box with a slight cosmetic flaw. Then it's just because it's preloved, i.e. used before.
At AYA&IDA, we aim to minimize our consumption of packaging and waste in order to protect the environment as much as possible. So what exactly do we do? We recycle packaging whenever possible, and we choose packaging made from well-considered materials when we buy in ourselves.
