Materials

Yes, all the products we design and sell are BPA-free. Our products are tested according to LFGB, a food safety standard that ensures materials are safe for contact with food and beverages. This testing includes checks for harmful substances like BPA.

Our bottles and Food'ies are made of stainless steel, while the lids are crafted from 100% pure polypropylene plastic, which is resistant to acids, bases, and solvents and is known for its durability. This ensures high-quality products that are safe for both food and beverages.

We have chosen 18/8 stainless steel because it is food-safe, durable, and non-reactive. This means it neither imparts nor absorbs flavors from food and drinks. Our products are laboratory certified according to LFGB (food contact grade testing), ensuring they meet high food safety standards.

In addition to being functional and thermally efficient, stainless steel is also a recyclable material.

No, our bottles are made from food-grade 18/8 stainless steel, which is naturally safe and does not require any plastic lining. This ensures that the bottles are durable and practical without any additional coating.

Yes, we encourage you to extend the lifespan of your products by repairing them instead of discarding them. We offer spare parts such as lids and seals, which can be ordered directly here, making it easy to prolong the life of your products.

AYA&IDA's products - both drinking bottles, CUP2GO, Lunch Box and Food'ie are designed to contain food and drinks.

Our products are made of 18/8 stainless steel, so they can hold any type of beverage, hot or cold, acidic or carbonated, without adding any extra flavor or releasing harmful substances. The products are laboratory certified to meet LFGB (food contact grade testing)

The bottles are coated with a durable powder finish that protects against everyday wear and tear. However, the coating may scratch if the bottle is dropped or scraped against hard surfaces. If the bottle gets dents, it does not affect its functionality or safety – it can still be used safely, even with minor bumps.

Our products are manufactured in Zhejiang Province, China, by certified partners that we carefully select and work closely with. The manufacturers are members of the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) and adhere to high standards for working conditions, safety, and responsible production. We regularly visit the facilities and conduct ongoing assessments of social and environmental conditions.

Both stainless steel and polypropylene are materials that can be recycled at appropriate facilities if properly sorted. Stainless steel bottles can be disposed of as metal waste, while the plastic lids should be sorted as hard plastic—depending on local waste management systems.

Cleaning

Keeping your AYA&IDA products clean is easy.

Our Food'ie, CUP2GO and all our straws are dishwasher safe. Drinking bottles and Kids Straw Bottle are not dishwasher safe.

We recommend that the drinking bottle be rinsed with warm water after each use, especially if the bottle is used to store a liquid other than water. For deep cleaning, we suggest using warm water, mild soap and a bottle brush. If you want a more organic alternative, you can use a solution made of vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda - it's just as effective.

Once washed, leave them to dry with the cap and bottle neck facing down to allow the water to flow out. This can also be used to just dry the bottle in general so it doesn't smell stuffy.

Thermal effect

Our products are double-walled, insulated bottles. Therefore, the bottle remains the same on the outside regardless of whether it contains something ice-cold or scalding hot.

CUP2GO has been tested to be able to keep the coffee warm as below:

If coffee/tea is poured in at a temperature of 90 degrees (electric kettle and Quooker gave us a starting temperature of 90 degrees hot water) and you immediately close the lid on the cup, the temperature drops by approx. 10 degrees every ½ hour.
This means that the coffee/tea is still after approx. 1½ - 2 hours is the perfect drinking temperature.

If you want to drink the coffee/tea right away, you just wait a little before putting the lid on. The opening is large, and you can quickly temper the coffee to the desired temperature.

There is also a big difference in the starting temperature depending on how the coffee is brewed, whether it is in the tank, directly into a thermos or in the good old-fashioned glass jug. Some put cold milk in the coffee and others hot milk, so the starting temperatures fluctuate enormously.

Other

Yes. As long as it is empty, you can carry your bottle through security. You'll often find a water dispenser in the airport - and you can enjoy cold water along your trip.

At AYA&IDA, we use recycled packaging, so you may receive a box with a slight cosmetic flaw. Then it's just because it's preloved, i.e. used before.

At AYA&IDA, we aim to minimize our consumption of packaging and waste in order to protect the environment as much as possible. So what exactly do we do? We recycle packaging whenever possible, and we choose packaging made from well-considered materials when we buy in ourselves.
